Our Story

On April 12, 2026, at 4:22 p.m., I thought I was losing my daughter. After being sick for several days, my 3-year-old daughter suffered a seizure. One moment she was in my arms. The next, I was holding what felt like a lifeless body while frantically speaking with a 911 operator.

As a parent, the thoughts that go through your mind in those moments are impossible to describe. Thankfully, today she is healthy with no lasting issues, but while sitting beside her hospital bed watching monitors beep and sensors cover her tiny body, one question kept running through my mind: What was I supposed to do? Not next week. Not after taking a class. Not after reading a book. What was I supposed to do right then?

When we got home, I started researching emergency response resources. I found plenty of training programs, certification courses, and educational materials. What I didn't find was a simple, practical resource designed for the moment an emergency is actually happening. Something that could help a parent, grandparent, babysitter, teacher, coach, or caregiver quickly recognize an emergency, take the right action, and know when to get help.

That's why I created the Actero Emergency Action System. Actero is built around a simple idea: In an emergency, seconds matter. Be ready to act.

Every card is designed to help you know what to look for, what to do, and when to get help. My hope is simple: that when someone faces one of the scariest moments of their life, they won't have to wonder what to do next.
